Who we are

Alesis is provided by L25 Limited, registered in England and Wales with company number 16154221, whose registered office is at 28 City Road, Chester, England, CH1 3AE. For information about the people who visit this site and hold Alesis accounts, we are the controller. Write to us about anything in this notice at [email protected].

Matter papers are different

The matters, documents and conversations a firm keeps in Alesis are the firm's. For personal data inside them, the firm decides why and how it is used, and we process it only on the firm's instructions to provide the service. If your personal data appears in a firm's matter, your questions about it are for that firm, and we will help the firm answer them.

What we hold

  • Account information. Your name, email address and sign-in settings, including whether you use two-factor authentication or passkeys.
  • Firm information. The firm's name, its membership, and the email domain it claims if it chooses to claim one.
  • Billing and usage records. The firm's credit, its usage, its top-ups and the amounts charged.
  • Correspondence. What you write to us and what we write back.
  • Service records. The technical logs needed to run the service, keep it secure and account for what it did.
  • Visits to this website. Figures about how the public pages are used, which identify nobody. What is counted, by whom, and what you can switch off are on the cookies page.

What we use it for

We use this information to provide Alesis and keep it secure, to bill for it, to support you, and to meet legal obligations. Where we rely on legitimate interests, they are the ordinary ones of running, protecting and improving the service, and they never include selling your information or showing you advertising.

Where it lives

Information in Alesis is held in the UK, and worked on only in the UK and the EU. It is not stored or sent anywhere else.

Visits to this website are the one exception, and they reach nothing a firm has put into Alesis: the cookieless figures are held in the Netherlands, and unless you turn analytics cookies off on the public pages, Google processes those figures in the United States under the transfer terms UK law requires. Neither runs on any page behind sign-in.

Who sees it

The people at L25 who need it to run the service and support you, and the service providers we use to operate Alesis, each bound by contract and given only what their role needs. We disclose information to authorities where the law requires it. We never sell personal data, and nothing your firm puts into Alesis is used to train anything for anyone else.

How long we keep it

Account and firm information is kept while the account or firm is active, and afterwards only as long as the law or a genuine dispute requires. A firm's content is kept while the firm uses Alesis; when a firm leaves, our terms of service say how it gets its content back and when we delete it.

Your rights

You have the rights UK data protection law gives you, including to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable form. Write to [email protected] and we will answer in writing. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

Inside the product, Alesis uses only the cookies it needs to work. On the public pages there are also analytics cookies, which measure how those pages are used so we can improve them, are never used for advertising, and can be turned off at any time — doing so deletes the ones already set. UK law allows those without asking first, on exactly those terms and provided objecting is free and simple, which is why you are told rather than asked. Every cookie is listed, with what it does and how long it lasts, on the cookies page, which is also where you turn them off.
